What do we take?

We take many different products. Please visit the links below for details.

Metals

We take all steel and aluminum cans - drink cans and food cans such as baked beans, tuna fish and peaches etc. We also take aerosol cans, clean tin foil and foil plates.

Preparation

Food & Drink Cans

It is very important that you rinse these items out to ensure they are clean, push lids inside and squeeze the tops together. Dirty cans can attract flies, wasps and vermin, and are also a health and safety concern for our workers and any animals who might have access to your crate on the kerbside.
You don't have to remove labels.

Foil Plates & Tin Foil

Foil plates must be clean, but do not need to be folded. Clean tin foil can also be accepted.

Aerosol Cans

Aerosol cans simply need the lid removed. Discard this in your rubbish bin.

**Remember

Empty aerosol cans are OK, as are aluminum foil plates. Labels don't need to be removed from cans and all items must be clean.

What happens to my metals?

Tin Cans & Tin Foil

Tins and cans are sorted and baled and sent for processing. Aluminium cans are generally processed back into drink cans, or into food and pharmaceutical packaging.

Steel Cans

Steel cans are recycled into products such as building reinforcing rods, or fencing wire.
